Are you doing that? Are you taking care of yourself like nobody else?
In this clip from the film Antwone Fisher, the young man torn apart from his adolescence, after a lifetime spent accusing other people, conquers his deep freedom. Love for himself.
When you were born you go through good things and bad things, as the years go by you raise expectations, not only your ones, but somebody else’s ones. If you cannot reach your goals you blame yourself, hate yourself, give up, or worse, blame everything and everyone, thus creating a reputation and a karma that will destroy your future. But the truth is that you’re “innocent”, and truth can set you free.
Even if you’re suffering, it’s a matter of time, this truth will appear right in front of you: everything is love. How can you love yourself if you don’t hate yourself? How can you live happily if you don’t know sadness? How can you express courage if you don’t experience fear?
Love emptiness you drag behind as a grown up man affects all your choices (conscious or not), and that emptiness will push you up and let you ask: “who will cry for the little boy?”. As long as your answer will be in other people, in the environment, in the government, you will go on suffering. Here’s Antwone’s search, that brought him to this awareness: who will cry for the little boy? I will.
Who will cry for the little boy? Lost and all alone.
Who will cry for the little boy? Abandoned without his own?
Who will cry for the little boy? He cried himself to sleep.
Who will cry for the little boy? He never had for keeps.
Who will cry for the little boy? He walked the burning sand.
Who will cry for the little boy? The boy inside the man.
Who will cry for the little boy? Who knows well hurt and pain.
Who will cry for the little boy? He died again and again.
Who will cry for the little boy? A good boy he tried to be.
Who will cry for the little boy? Who cries inside of me.
But “You will” is not enough as an answer. In order to reach for happiness you have to aim to the courage to forgive: this way the space of your heart will open up to give you the essence of this earthly existence.
Pardoning the offense, the errors. This is the definition of “forgiveness”.
Forgiving is the last obstacle, the last barrier to the entrance of happiness in people’s life.
Forgive the others and love yourself.
