A message for those who feel stuck in the past. What has happened, and what has happened to others it does not necessarily have to happen to you too.
In the words of Denzel Washington in the film “The Bone Collector“:
“I think you’re terrific…”
“They say we come into this world with a preordained destiny. I don’t believe it…”
“…My point is that destiny is what you make it… What happened to your father won’t necessarily happen to you”
“You’re a great cop… You’d make a great detective. It’s a gift. Don’t throw it away.”
Sometimes it is simply about living a more relaxed life and abandoning many claims, that stem from expectations that were never ours. Other times, it is about finding the courage to do something that no one expects.
In the animated film “The Croods,” the divide between the old and the new is represented by the abandonment of the cave where they have always lived.
We grow when we gain awareness, building a space between stimulus and response, between what was and what can be and we are open to new possibilities.
Do you know someone who keeps his potential to himself because of his past?
Be of encouragement! Share this.
“… and in case I don’t see ya…
good afternoon, good evening and good night!”…
