The summary would be this: “Destiny” exists if you do not do anything to change it.
In the scene, Elise and David fall in love and it is hidden from the Chairman, the head of “The Adjustment Bureau“. A deviation from the script, puts the Puppet Master in difficulty (you can call him God, Chairman, or whatever you want). The latter, in order to achieve the “written down destiny” does everything to destroy the free will of the young couple.
David fights back, claiming his power to choose, but it seems useless. On the terrace, fate is going to redeem himself; the two kiss for the last time, but then the unexpected happens: the story changes its course.
What has happened? Does “destiny” really exist?
“Most people go through life like pinballs, reacting predictably to the stimuli I apply. They accept the path they find themselves on. And perform accordingly. But every once in a while someone comes along who refuses to be bound by his fate, someone who understands that Free Will is a gift most people are too afraid to use”.
We are writing our own history. In this scene, we find the essence of personal fulfilment: fight every day to claim free will and discover that destiny is something that we can influence, thanks to our choices.
No big secret and no magic bullet, but a strong determination to convince the “Chairman” that the goal, you, you want it at any cost.
The battle is between the “genetic determinism” and “determinism of choices”. In the first case there are those who claim that our history and our experiences have already been decided what we will get from life. In the second case, you are well aware of the influence of the past and conditions, but you are also convinced that the future will be the result of the choices that you make every day.
In every moment of our lives we can choose between small and large changes; too often unconsciously, if we choose not to act then the Chairman’s plan takes shape. It is fuelled by inertia, especially when there is no trust and hope.
Sow a thought, reap an action
Sow an action and reap a habit
Sow a habit and reap character
Sow a character and you reap a “destiny”
So we’ve got to the core of things. Whereas thoughts are the source of everything, where do they come?
Some studies show that about 30% of these are unchangeable from birth, due to extremely cold “genetic memories”, we tend to think (and consequently to move) with conditioned reflexes (see Pavlov and his studies). But the amazing news is that 70% of what originates in our mind is under our total control.
If these thoughts are made of “courage”, “determination”, “discipline”, “will”, what we will achieve in life can only be positively influenced. The energy produced by this variety of thoughts tends to modify the “Chairman’s plan,” or the natural course of things.
In particular, this happens when we take control of what we think, and as a result, we take control of our actions, our habits and our character.
When we forget this power, the muscle tends to lose its strength and whenever we want that energy back, it will make be harder, just like it is with physical training. However, it is nice to know that you have this opportunity, and you can claim it at any time from now.
It is good to know that you can choose. The future is in our hands.
Choose if you want to share.

good afternoon, good evening and good night!”…
