Appearances can be deceiving

According to NLP, there are no good people and no bad people. Each one of us chooses the best alternative for ourselves. The choices we make are almost always stimulated by our past, particularly emotional experiences which force us to choose in order to guarantee our happiness in the short term.

Giving bad news

The scene can be compared “metaphorically” to the communication of bad news with two main rules to be followed.

You can do it

Burt Munro has lived most of his life in Invercargill, New Zealand. He dreams of taking his Indian motorcycle of the 20s to Bonneville in Utah, to set a new world record by racing on the salt …. Which takes vehicles to the maximum speed.

If you don’t follow through on your dreams, you might as well be a vegetable

Burt is a clear example of mentoring. In the scene, at first, Burt is upset by his grandson’s words, but with his determination, Burt ends up being a role model in the child’s upbringing.
